This blog was inspired by Proverbs 27:17 which states
"As iron sharpens iron, so a friend sharpens a friend."
In my quest to reach out to other Christian men, my prayer is that we can all learn and grow in the truth of God's Word. 1 Peter 5:9 reads "Stand firm against him, and be strong in your faith.Remember that your Christian brothers and sisters all over the world are going through the same kind of sufferings you are." God Bless You, and may He keep you

The Cross
Why do we glorify the cross? Isn't it as if we are embracing death? Doesn't the bible teach that death is an enemy?
Death is an enemy, but we do not glorify the cross to remember death, but rather the sacrifice...the price paid. Jesus, himself wants us to remember this by partaking of communion...his body and blood. The empty cross (and tomb)is a sign of the victory over death and the grave...(oh death, where is your sting?). Catholics make use the crucifix using an image of Jesus still hanging on the cross. This is not where the focus should be and I am sure Jesus does not want to be remembered so. Also, to glorify the cross as an item of worship is idolotry. If you carry a cross or rub a cross with the hopes that it will protect you, then you fall into sin. Using a cross to identify yourself as a Child of Christ however is a badge of Honor.
